The aerial battle between 42X and Wildman raged on, and Wildman's assault continued to get more frenzied by the second. Fortunately for Slade, he noticed the link between Wildman's feral rage and his predictability. Unfortunately for Wildman, this meant that his next flying strike was perfectly countered by Slade, sending the orange-clad hero straight through the side of a tough brick wall. For a short time, Wildman does not come up from the wreckage.

It is only at this point that Cross makes his move, dropping down from the heights of the Thunder Force Tower straight onto Slade's back, wrecking the agent's flying apparatus as the two drop at speed.

Cross doesn't start fights, he finishes them. I know if Cross ever looked at me with the expression he has in panel 2, I'd run.
